Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair and Painting – Initial Course (RRPI) 8/25/2020

Description

This 8-hour EPA-HUD approved course will certify participants for the new Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (Lead Renovators) training requirements. As of April 22, 2010, anyone who performs renovations, repairs, or painting in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be EPA Lead Safe Certified. Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $37,500 per day. Any contractor performing work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one (1) Certified Renovator who has successfully completed this training. Companies must also be registered as a Lead Safe Certified Firm with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The course concludes with a certification exam. New lead certification is required for any and all renovation activities that disturb more than 6 square feet of interior or 20 square feet of exterior lead paint in residential or child-occupied facilities built before 1978. Professionals who do not comply are at risk to be fined by the EPA.”
